Physicians and Nurse Practitioners

  • Thank you for your hard work and devotion to the population of Outaouais. We truly appreciate your involvement with patients suffering from mental health, which can at times be challenging.
  • We appreciate your dedication and the continuity of care following our temporary involvement.
  • Thank you for trusting us by referring your most vulnerable and endearing patients.
  • Please contact our assistant (819-771-0017) to obtain our fax number and referral form.
  • See the individual psychiatrist section for the different services offered by each child psychiatrist, and select the one that best matches their needs.
  • Preferably make a referral to one psychiatrist per patient.
  • Summary :
    • Dr. Goulard: 6 -17 yo, adolescent group, individual and family interventions
    • Dr. Labonté: 6 -17yo, individual and family interventions
    • Dr. Michaud: 9 -17yo, individual and family interventions
  • We would like to assess and treat all patient referrals, but we must limit ourselves due to a lack of resources, waiting lists, and expertise. We are working hard to ensure a reasonable delay on our respective waiting lists.
  • The clinic cannot accommodate urgent cases. Patients must be directed to the hospital for any medical emergency (or 811 (option 2) if a psychosocial crisis).
  • The clinic is not equipped to accommodate cases that could lead to disorganized or dangerous behaviours. Unfortunately, we do not have the premises or trained staff for such situations.
  • The clinic cannot offer sustained services for complex cases requiring management by a multidisciplinary team or requiring recurrent hospitalizations (physical care or mental health).
  • We do not offer neurocognitive assessments (learning disabilities or cognitive profile).
  • We do not offer any hormone therapy at the clinic.
  • We do not offer forensic psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
  • Sometimes patients can achieve complete remission, but other times only partial improvements with persisting challenges. After a period of intervention and achievement of a partial remission, patients may be redirected to the referring doctor for ongoing care.
  • Some patients suffer from conditions that do not require pharmacotherapy or psychotherapeutic intervention. We may, in such circumstances, suggest a referral to other community services.
  • While we are involved in your patient’s care, we will try to provide you with regular updates.
  • If you do not receive our consultation or follow-up notes, please advise us.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot currently offer telephone consultations for cases that have not yet been assessed by the clinic.
  • Some recommendations to patients and families may be challenging and difficult to put into application. They may shop around for medications rather than first implementing the interventions proposed by the psychiatrist. If our mutual patient is soliciting pharmacological interventions with you, do not hesitate to contact us and redirect them to our services.
